Discrimination and Hate Crime Caseworker Vacancy

Job Overview:

The Discrimination and Hate Caseworker will provide high quality advice, dealing with cases from our core service right through to representing EQuIP at external partnership meetings and by delivering training to relevant groups and stakeholders. This role would suit an experienced caseworker or someone with a law degree and someone with a keen interest in issues related to equality and discrimination. We have a reputation for developing careers and will work with you to become self supervising, if you are not already working at this level.

Key Responsibilities:

Advise and assist clients with discrimination and hate casework through appointments, surgeries, and telephone advice.

Advise on initial aspects of discrimination in employment, accessing goods and services, education, health, etc.

Properly manage casework, including maintaining records, updating monitoring systems, and producing reports.

Lead the coordination and implementation of professional accreditation for the casework service.

Stay updated with current legislation, case law, and policy related to equalities, discrimination, and employment, advising EQuIP of any implications.

Organise and coordinate multi-agency forums on discrimination and hate crime.

Support the CEO in attending Hate Crime Partnership meetings and contribute to all partnership activities.

Promote and facilitate community links and partnerships with residents, community groups, and statutory agencies.

Deliver training on hate crime awareness, equalities legislation, discrimination, PSED, and EIAs.

Assist in exploring, assessing, and accessing funding opportunities for EQuIP.

Commit to continued professional development.

Conduct monitoring and evaluation, including trend reports and gap analyses, for team meetings, the CEO, EQuIP Board, and relevant funders.

What We're Looking For:

·         Relevant qualifications and/or experience.

·         Demonstrable experience in case work, advice support, equalities, or related fields.

·         Knowledge of equality legislation, discrimination, and best practices.

·         Strong commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.

·         Proven ability in networking and relationship-building.

·         Excellent communication and ICT skills.

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·         Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and work outside of normal working hours, where required.

·         Ability to travel effectively within Warwickshire.
